Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The manuscript has not been previously published, nor is it currently being considered for publication in another journal or any other forms of publication.
  • The manuscript is formatted and referenced in accordance with the manuscript guidelines (see following).
  • The manuscript does not contain any identification of author(s). The author(s) information should be provided in the Title Page submitted as a separate file.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • Author(s) are required to obtain necessary permission for reproduction of any figures, tables or extracts from other copyrighted sources.

Author Guidelines

Preparing the Manuscript

Each submission must be limited to 20 A4 pages, which can be written in English (preferably British English) or in Indonesian. For formatting, use 12 pt Times New Roman, 1.15 paragraph spacing, and 2.5 cm margin (all sides). Submission must include:

  1. 100-250 words of abstract
  2. Maximum of 5 keywords
  3. Title page (author(s) name, affiliation, short biography, and corresponding address)
  4. Figures and tables
  5. Acknowledgment (if any)
  6. Reference list (use APA reference style: 7th edition)

Please note that the 20 pages limit is applied regardless of the type of submission. In addition, each submission type must meet the following requirements:

Original Research Paper
Refereed Research Paper submission must be kept within 4000-6000 words. This word limit must cover all of the texts within the manuscript starting from the title, abstract, keywords, main text, figure and table caption, acknowledgements, and references list.

Project and Book Review
Project and Book Review submission must not exceed 3000 words. This word limit must cover all of the texts within the manuscript starting from the title, abstract, keywords, main text, figure and table caption, acknowledgements, and references list.

Academic Design Project Reflection
Academic Design Project Reflection submission must be kept within 3000-5000 words. This word limit must cover all of the texts within the manuscript starting from the title, abstract, keywords, main text, figure and table caption, acknowledgements, and references list. The submission must show a scholarly reflection upon the project, encompassing the critical design thinking embedded in the project. There should be at least 5 indicative images of the project. Any submitted project must include the name of the student(s) and the supervi- sor(s) as the authors.

Preparing the Submission

The manuscript should be submitted through the journal submission portal. Author(s) are required to log into the journal website to submit the manuscripts.

  1. A PDF file of your manuscript
  2. A .docx or .doc file of your manuscript
  3. A .docx or .doc file of your title page
  4. Separate files containing all of the images and tables in the manuscript

Reviewing Process

Your submitted projects will be initially screened by the editorial team. Assessment will be performed to see whether or not the submitted project has met the scope of the journal and has been appropriately written in academic English. Once considered suitable, your work will be reviewed by two referees (blind-review). After the review process is completed, the author(s) will be notified with the result: Accepted, Accepted with minor revisions; Accepted with major revisions; or Rejected.
