This program addresses the role of school ground as a potential setting for outdoor learning in primary schools. The model of “Knowledge Garden” was proposed as a setting where children could gain various kinds of knowledge through play, engagement and exploration. The design idea of “Knowledge Garden” was based on different types of environment, each with various elements that could promote different learning activities. The setting offers a kind of learning journey for children from one part to another, each with meaningful learning experiences. A series of learning modules were also developed to complement the spatial intervention of the school ground, as an exemplary guidance for the teachers and children on how to utilize the potential of the school ground as the setting for outdoor learning.
